Sherut Leumi Search

When looking into Sherut it can be extremely overwhelming since Sherut Leumi has hundreds of options available all over the country! This can make it very challenging to choose only a few placements at which to interview. It is important to narrow down your options. This is how we advise you to go about the process.

When exploring Sherut Leumi, you’ll discover a wide range of meaningful opportunities available across the country. With so many options, it’s helpful to take a thoughtful and focused approach to choosing placements. Narrowing down your options allows you to better understand what’s right for you, and below is how we recommend approaching the process.

  1. Start by thinking about what kind of Sherut excites you most and what you hope to gain from your year. Make a short priority list. This might include improving your Hebrew, feeling comfortable in your apartment, or having easy access to public transportation. Clarifying what matters most to you will help you narrow your options and choose placements that best fit your goals.
  2. Go through the Amutot websites and search for jobs in the categories you are interested in, and find someone you can speak to about a similar experience. Sign up for our Mellavot Program to speak to girls who have done Sherut Leumi in the past
  3. Once you feel like you know what you want, make a list with a maximum of 5 places to interview at. (It does not matter if they are from the same Amutot or not)
  4. Sign up for Sayarot – This year on January 25th, you can sign up for interviews. Enter each of the Amutot’s websites and sign up for an interview at the specific teken you want.
  5. Consider reaching out to the rakazot on the Programs and Contact page – Most speak English and often work with Bnot Sherut Bodedot (Lone Bnot Sherut)
